Course Details & General Information
Imagine a museum you don’t just visit – you play through it.
This Erasmus+ course invites teachers to become game designers of learning by creating a simple 3D interactive museum walkthrough focused on the cultural heritage of Split, Croatia (idea transferable to any subject, space and context).
Harnessing spatial storytelling and environment design, using Unreal Engine 5 with simple, but creative game mechanics (no coding), participants design an educational game where students open doors, explore spaces, interact with 3D artefacts, trigger stories, watch videos, move objects, and jump between location – learning by curiosity and discovery.
The course blends the theory of fun and engagement in games with classroom pedagogy, showing that the same principles that make games addictive – challenge, feedback, choice, narrative-also make learning meaningful. Teachers use AI and generative tools to co-create concepts, stories, branching narratives, visuals, 3D objects, and multimedia content, transforming traditional lessons into immersive experiences.
By the end, every participant leaves with a playable 3D museum prototype
and a reusable framework as a ready-to-use teaching concept – transferable
to any subject, any age group, and any cultural context.
This is not about teaching games in school.
It’s about turning school into a game worth playing
