During another tailored teacher training course, Elementary English Language for Educators: International Collaboration & Cultural Discovery, held from 20 to 25 July 2026, our participants from Latvia were strengthening all four language skills through a rich variety of engaging activities.
Among their favourites were:
- Game-based learning
- Reading comprehension activities based on an original text in the context of the cultural heritage of Split and classroom-ready tasks created by our educator Ivana, followed by an analysis of how to adapt them for their own students
- Listening practice
- Creative and personalised reflection
- Presentation skills
- A field class exploring the outstanding cultural heritage of Split
Every activity is designed not only to improve participants’ English language competences, but also to equip them with practical teaching strategies they can immediately implement in their own classrooms.
The learning content was specifically created for a mixed group of learners who wanted to gain more practice in using the English language – to manage their Erasmus+ project activities more efficiently and skilfully, to collaborate more successfully in international educational communities, and to learn more about the cultural heritage values that Split contributes to the overall European cultural heritage. Our trainer Ivana took the participants to the main cultural heritage sites of Split and organised a special field class in which they actively learned about the history and civilisation of Split by playing a scavenger hunt game that, alongside English language, improved other skills such as media literacy, critical thinking, logical thinking, spatial orientation, teamwork, and presentation skills.
At the end of the course, our participants achieved the following learning outcomes:
- using A1 grammar and vocabulary accurately in guided contexts
- developing basic receptive skills through listening and reading activities
- expressing themselves in speaking and writing in a creative and structured way (A1–A2)
- speaking publicly using prepared sentence frames and visual support
- using digital tools (CapCut & Canva) to produce materials that support speaking practice (A1–A2)
- implementing cultural heritage as a cross-curricular theme in collaborative tasks
- applying basic concepts of Civic Education in speaking activities
- planning and delivering a gamified, cross-curricular scavenger hunt at cultural heritage sites in Split
- identifying key landmarks and historical facts about Split
- connecting language learning to cultural heritage in a meaningful and personal way
- practising formative peer and self-assessment across individual, pair, and group work
Teacher training at Lina Edu is not just about learning and developing new skills. It is so much more than that. It is about meaningful experiences, genuine connections, and the wonderful moments that naturally grow when passionate educators and dedicated participants come together.
We are delighted to receive such positive and encouraging feedback from our participants. Their progress, confidence, and enthusiasm are the greatest confirmation that meaningful learning happens through active participation.
This course is perfect for A1 beginners and for A2 educators who wish to refresh the fundamentals, build confidence, and strengthen their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in an international Erasmus+ environment.
